About Louis Lawson

Louis Lawson is the head instructor at L7 Martial Arts in Spanish Springs, Nevada. He began his martial arts training 27 years ago in the Reno, Nevada area. Louis was a top competitor in forms and sparring divisions with the World Karate Association (WKA) and ISKA from 1983 to 1992. Louis taught Chinese Kempo Karate under Sifu Charles Valentine for four years in Sparks, Nv. He received his Black Belt from Charles Valentine in 1988. In 1992, he moved to Colorado and trained in the Tracy Kenpo Karate Association and also taught Kenpo under Sensei William Hensel. In 1998, he began his training in Bok Fu ( a combination of Choy Li Fut Kung Fu and Kenpo Karate) under Sifu Ahmad-Zai . He then became the Head Instructor under Sifu Ahmad-Zai. He is now the Head Instructor and partner at L7 Martial Arts. He is continuing his Choy Li Fut Kung Fu training under Sifu David Dong located in Albany,Ca..
